Just bought 8 sub kegs
Just bought 8 sub kegs. The second keg I lost the whole lot to froth. £8.50 for a thimble full of beer.

These are a joke. Expensive and a waste of time.

No beer available
It was once easy to get sub refills, but since Brexit it's impossible. Berwulf have them in stock they claim but when you get to checkout they have been removed due to being out of stock. I once loved my dispenser now it's just a piece of junk.

Too expensive
The actual machine is made by Krups and is very well made and fun to use. My grievance is in the cost of the torps that go in it. They are ridiculously expensive and hard to get hold off as there is only one company Beerwulf supplying them in the UK. You lose a lot of the 2L of beer in froth, no matter how many times I try and I used to be a barman I cannot pour a perfect pint without half the glass turning into froth. It is a great talking point at first but the cost of the torps soon takes the away the novelty value. It now sits unloved in the back of the garage which is a shame. My suggestion would be to lower the cost of the torps and make them available at the supermarket. You might find that they sell more.

Total crap on so many levels
Total crap on so many levels . Limited availability on kegs, way too much foam per pint when pouring , which Beerwulf blame on customers pouring knowledge ( I know how to pour a pint ) . On top of that customer service is garbage . 2 stars is generous

Very limited range, if even
Very limited range, and even the range they say is available, isn't once you check your shopping cart.

The choice and availability leaves a lot to be desired!

The machine itself is good only when and if you can get torps from beerwulf! I have made an order, paid in full, three weeks later no torps! Beerwulf only supplier and their customer service is useless! Pointless product of supplier is useless

Don't bother with it
Don't bother. Having had this machine for 2 years and only using it no more than 10 times due to the cost of the tops I was dissatisfied that the pouring mechanism broke and stopped pouring. I'm sure its out if warranty so wouldn't bother wasting your money as if I'd used it more regularly I'm sure it would have broken sooner.

A fair review!
I wanted to write a review as I’ve seen a lot of poor reviews and I really like my sub compact and wanted to share my opinion.

I was bought this for my 30th birthday and I absolutely love it. There are a great choice of beers available, annoyingly only from one retailer but I will touch on that later.

Turn it on for at least an hour and make sure your beers are pre chilled in the fridge until they’re chilled.

The quality is superb, nice crisp foamy head on every pint, just make sure you angle the glass and make sure it’s clean and chilled preferably. Birra morreti tastes just like it does from your favourite boozer. And they’re are plenty of IPAs available if like me you also like your citrusy refreshing beers.

They only thing I would say against it is the price of the sub torps (kegs). I feel like they price them as if this beer pump should only be used at certain occasions and not everyday use. If you just choose the basic cheapest beers ie Heineken, birra morreti etc, A box of 8 is around £72. If you want a box of all IPAs it becomes super expensive. I use my sub compact regularly and feel like lowering they’re costs slightly would really help boost they’re sales and encourage new customers. Especially during lockdown.

Each keg I’d say gives you around 4 pints, so if you have more people in the house who would use it, I’d probably recommend the bigger version ‘Blade’.

Overall though, it’s a fantastic product.

Got this as a gift
Got this as a gift, and it’s great.
It’s very easy to change over And very low maintenance
The first pint tends to have a lot of froth so I always use another glass to collect the excess froth before pulling my first pint, can get 4 pints per torp. When ordering from the beerwulf website you get free delivery if you buy 8 torps so works out around £2 a pint (when ordering beer under £10)Would highly recommend.

I have wanted one of these for a while…
I have wanted one of these for a while and got one as a surprise for Christmas.

I got the sub with 4 Heineken torps and an 8 box of 4 Amstel and 4 bier moretti.

1st sub ok a lot of froth but hey it was warm and I was excited to try it. I am now 9 torps in and I realised the 1st pour of a torp can cause froth so I always do a pre blast and then get a perfect pint.

Yes its more than a can in the supermarket but I've taste tested a can of Heineken with a pint from the sub and its the pint all the way, its cold 2c and just as a pint should be at around £2 a pint compared to going the pub (they are all shut) at around £5 plus for a premium pint...

As for stock issues, I was told the extra torps that I got would be 2 weeks they arrived 2 days from order. I have an order in for 8 more to test some beers and will likely subscribe .

As my 1st draught system im very happy.

Like it
Like it, the beer taste better than a can. I have compared with friends between can and Torp beer. But it is expensive. You get what you pay for. It takes time to get used to pouring pints perfectly. If you wanted to be cheap you can refil the Toros, but it is a bit of hassle.

A real let down.
This is a real let down if you’re expecting pub quality beer. On the other hand, if you want a bottle quality beer that has been ‘fizzed up’ and has cost you more than a pint at your local, then fill your boots!!!

The ‘Torps’ as they are called are horrifically expensive and fly in the face of environmental responsibility, and you’ll need to cool them in your fridge or else wait the best part of a day for your sub machine to cool them down....

Once installed, assuming your beer is cold, you’ll waste the lions share of the first glass as it’s mostly foam (this is a known fault as the manual even makes reference to discarding part of the first glass).

You’re then left with about three pints of beer, which at a minimum of roughly £3 a pint, makes this an expensive home drink.

I certainly won’t be ordering anymore refills and I suspect the sub machine will spend the vast majority of its life in the loft, assuming it doesn’t get sold first....

Pricey novelty.
Its clear that the theme here (with this otherwise good dispenser) is hugely over inflated price for the torps!
Typical brewers greed (and or beerwulfs markup?) that will limit "the sub" in terms of growth or eventual demise altogether. I am currently paying less for true craft beer on a £ per volume basis over the torps, ridiculous. So this machine is a pure novelty in my opinion and quite a shame.

I have given 1 star because no stars is not an option. Should have had my delivery of Moretti keg on the 27/11/2020. Its now 4/12/2020. No delivery. Emailed and sent messages through their useless live chat. Which is a contradiction in terms. As its dead chat. Today eventually had an email from Nine. Basically she couldn't say whether my kegs were with Yodel or in the ether. You can't even ring them. I wish Blade would just supply Supermarkets instead. The machine is fabulous. But the replacement is shocking. Even from blade.

Crazily expensive torps
Crazily expensive torps. Expensive delivery unless you buy 8 Torps...that's easy £75!

Have some nice craft beers but they are circa £16 for 3.5 pints
